As We Climb Scholarship

With an an array of scholarship and professional development initiatives, Lifting Our Youth continues to be guided by the vision of reaching, mentoring, and encouraging youth that every goal and dream could be achieved. This mission is supported through the annual awarding of a merit-based scholarship to deserving students from Georgetown, SC to attend a four year college or university of their choice.  A list of previous scholarship winners can be found below.


Xavier Linen

Xavier Linen is a 2021 graduate of Andrews High School. A honor student and athlete, Xavier was a member of the marching and concert bands and a member of the Track and Field team. Following his passion for music, Xavier will attend Columbia College and major in Music and Business Administration with hopes of becoming a music producer. 


Savannah Manning

Savannah Manning was named the Valedictorian of Waccamaw High School's Class of 2020. In addition to her scholastic accolades, Savannah has been actively involved in numerous clubs, the soccer team and her church. In her free time, she tutored young children. She will attend Clemson University in Clemson, SC where she will pursue a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing.



Alexis Crockett graduated from Carvers Bay High School where she served as Student Body President. Aside from her multiple leadership positions, Alexis was involved in sports and spent time volunteering with local organizations. An avid poetry writer, Alexis will attend Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA with majors in both History and African American studies.

Tyrin Gamble

Tyrin Gamble graduated as the Salutatorian of Carvers Bay High School's Class of 2019. He is an honor student and equally involved in clubs, organizations, his church and the community. Tyrin will attend Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia where he will major in Biology with a Pre-Med track.

Jasmine Bryant

Jasmine Bryant graduated from Georgetown High School in 2019 with honors. She is super involved not only in school and her community, but church too. Jasmine will attend the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC and major in Biology.
